I am writing a brief report to inform you of the recent developments in our Church. I sincerely thank all of you who have shown concern and love for our Church. Hopefully this briefing will help you understand how to pray for us.
1. New Church Building
Through the help of Scott Chang, we found out there is no established church building for sale here in the Westside.
We have been doing a lot of research and visited many business buildings and sites in the area. So far we have not found anything that fits our needs.
We had seriously considered a business building in Culver City. The building was about 4 miles from our Church, and was permitted to convert into church use. However, due to space, location and price issues, we did not reach a deal with the seller. The building was subsequently sold to another buyer for $4 million.
We are still fervently seeking a new place for our Church, so that we can carry on our ministries here in the Westside for our Lord.
2. Building Funds
There are many beloved brothers and sisters who have great love for our Church, sent in offerings designated for the Church Building Fund throughout the years. And here is the balance of the Fund to date.
As of December 31, 2006 $ 614,298
Total from January to October 2007 $ 4,539
Total from November 2007 $ 28,850
As of November 18th, 2007 $ 647,687
3. Present Meeting Places
Praise the Lord, even though we are experiencing big changes this month, my dear brothers and sisters remain calm and keep on coming to worship God and serve the Lord. Yes, The King's business is as usual. At present, our places of worship and meeting are as follows:
A. 1637 Butler Ave.
Our main meeting place is still at 1637 Butler Ave. Usage of the facilities is listed below:
Sundays:
The Sanctuary and basement 1:00 - 4:00p.m.
Rooms 102 & 105 1:00 - 4:00p.m.
Rooms 104 & 201 1:00 - 5:00p.m.
Fireside Lounge 3:00 - 5:00p.m.
Saturdays
The Sanctuary, basement, kitchen, and Rooms102,104,105,201 6:00-10.00p.m.
Wednesdays
Room 201 7:00-11;00p.m.
Exclusive use: Store room in basement, Room 204(except Sundays before 1p.m.) and
Room 205 can be used daily.
B. Arizona Ave corner 14Ave., Santa Monica
The Youth fellowship uses this site for Friday night meeting.
The other fellowships meet at different homes every Friday night..
C. We are trying to contact one big Church to see if we can use their facilities that can accommodate all of our fellowship meetings on Friday night. Please pray for that.
4. Still searching
We are still looking for a new meeting place for the whole Church. If you know any place that meet our needs, please inform the Church co-workers.
A. Within a 4 miles radius of the present Church
B. Any commercial building or warehouse that can be converted into church use.
