This time I am not going to talk about the searching of new church building, because there has not been any good news. Even though some co-workers and I had indeed investigated new sites reported to us, the price, the size and the location did not meet our need so far.
What I am going to tell you is that Rev. & Mrs. Gee Lowe had accepted our invitation and offer to be an associate Pastor of Chinese Bible Church effective September 1st of this year.
This is a very good news to us.
Rev. and Mrs. Lowe were formerly members of our church twenty plus years ago. They moved and worked in San Diego. There they founded the Chinese Bible Church of San Diego with another couple, also with the help of Rev. Philip Lee, brother Shun Ma, Tsun Yee Yan, and Michael Yung. That church is now a large and solid church in the San Diego area.
About ten years ago, Rev. and Mrs. Lowe decided to serve the Lord full-time. The then brother Lowe left his engineering position and went to a seminary to equip himself for the full-time ministry. After having finished his studies at Edinburgh University in Scotland, he came back to the United States and joined the Glory Christian Church of San Diego as their senior pastor. At the same time, Mrs. Lowe went to Biola to further her studies in Christian Education and Family Counseling, and is expecting her doctoral degree this December.
Their background, their experiences, their burden, and especially their golden age would definitely be a blessing to our church. I therefore strongly recommend them to you and hope that all of you would accept and respect them as you did to me. Help them to settle down quickly and assist and support them to carry out the pastoral work smoothly. With all your prayers, help, and support, I am sure that God will use them to move our church forward, and to a higher and better level.
